Overview
We use drones and high accuracy RTK GNSS to provide our clients with maps and pictures which have high positional accuracy. If you have a requirement that you think might be met using drones to deliver output with high positional accuracy please contact us to talk about it.
Site & Location Mapping
We create a repeatable mission and fly the site to provide you with a geo-located photomosaic. We also provide digital surface and digital terrain models. If you are engaging a surveyor we will work with them to tie our photomosaic to their control points. If you have existing control points we identify those in the photomosaic. We are also able to provide 3D models which can be imported into other software and rendered to provide photo-realistic site views.
This has multiple benefits: Architects, engineers and the various trades use the photomosaic within their software systems. Users are able to see the details of the site as a geo-located layer within their software. This enhances understanding and creates a shared view of the site across all parties involved. On larger sites the outputs can be used to plan earthworks and calculate cut and fill volumes.
Site Progress
We regularly return to the site and, utilising our original mission, we capture repeat imagery showing progress over time. This allows project managers, owners, developers and other stakeholders to effectively review progress, spot emerging issues and validate progress claims.
Site progress imagery can also include perspective views which can be used for marketing and other collateral.
Asset Inspection
We plan the mission and capture a detailed photographic record of the asset. This allows for condition reporting and maintenance planning. We can fly the mission repeatedly over time to show the condition of the asset and document maintenance required and conducted.
Asset inspection imagery can also be used to aid the design of integration of older buildings and structures into new developments and to plan demolitions.
Damage Inspections
Where assets have been damaged in bushfires, storms or floods we are able to rapidly document the damage and the current condition with aerial photographs and visuals. We are able to conduct early inspections where access may be difficult or dangerous. This allows planning to secure and repair the asset or for preparation of insurance claims.
Installation Planning
Planning installations or quoting for rooftop solar or HVAC systems often requires difficult roof access prior to installation. We can shortcut this process by flying the roof and providing dimensionally accurate photomosaics and detail imagery. This reduces the need to deploy teams to the site and reduces the exposure to safety hazards. It also enables you to determine specific areas where detailed inspection is required and to plan those inspections.
All of our drones are equipped with RTK positioning for maximum positional accuracy. In addition we use an RTK GNSS receiver to locate ground control points (GCP) and check points to ensure alignment between the products we create and real world locations.
